How To Make Money Fundraiser

Does anyone have any good ideas of How To Make Money at a charity fundraiser party???
A friend of mine was in a really bad motorcyle accident, and has no benefits and minimal insurance, we are throwing a big party to try to raise her and her husband some money. Does anyone have good ideas of sure ways to make money at the party. I am looking for some original things, not all the typical stuff that you see at stag and does??
Thanks in advance!!
There are so many ideas, it kind of depends on the crowd you anticipate. Food sells, such as baked goods for a bake sale or have a potluck and guests pay for a plate.
There are raffles. Ask local businesses for donations and have guests bid or buy tickets. Do a 50/50 raffle where the winner gets 50% of the cash and the rest goes to your friend.
A really great way to get money is to have a poker tournament where all or most of the pot goes to your friend.
Have a change bucket at the door to have guests empty their pockets.
The idea is to have a lot of ways for people to contribute and still get something for their money (food, entertainment etc). Make sure party goers are well informed of the situation. Have pictures of your friend and maybe a poster etc.
Good luck!!
