Is being a porn star in Japan considered to be a good/respected profession?

I’m just curious. I know in the United States if you do porn, your record is pretty much tainted. And if you tell someone thats how you make your money it’s kind of looked down upon.
Is it different in Japan? Is being a porn actress a respected profession/a good career? (not that its not a good career here) I guess what I’m asking is if you tell someone in Japan that you’re in the adult industry will they say “ohh, good for you!”?

Do you really think thats respected ANYWHERE in the world? smh
