Will it be easy for me to become and airline pilot and make good money at the start?

I’m a junior in high school and i have about 30 hours of flying time logged in. I want to go to college and take a course in flying. Are there any better, cheaper ways to do? Or is going to college and taking a course a good thing? How much will I be making when I start, and will it turn out to be a good career?

At your age, a great way to go is to take Private Pilot lessons at your local airport. Then in summer, when you have time to really work on it. Get your Instrument Rating knocked out fast. While in College and or during summers get your Commercial and CFI ratings. I have plenty of Friends who’s part time college job was being a CFI! It is a great weekend and summer job. It is the least expensive way and also a great college job. by the time you graduate 4 years, you will have enough flight time to get hired by the Regional Airlines.
Currently the Regional Airlines are paying $19,000 – $22,000 to start. After a year, they jump you up to around $30,000. With flight experience you can get up to $70,000 -$80,000 a year easily. When you transition to the Major Airlines they start you again around $35,000- $40,000… then you get your pay raises and most major airline pilots are now topping out at $175,000.
